Dori Bessette-Crail is a seasoned Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 24+ years of experience in the mental health field. Dori holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from ECSU and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Saint Joseph. For 15 years Dori owned a private practice providing individual, couples and family therapy. She has extensive training in Gottman principles and Emotionally Focused Therapy and is a certified Divorce Mediator. Dori has served as Adjunct faculty for Graduate Studies in the Department of Psychology at Springfield College.
As a Behavioral Health Clinician at Hartford Healthcare's Backus and Windham Hospitals Center for Mental Health Dori provides evidence-based, client-centered care driven by best practices. Dori's approach to supervision is systems focused using the Self of the Therapist model and is passionate about advancing professional growth for emerging clinicians through supporting, mentoring, guiding and sharing theoretical knowledge and expertise in their journey toward skills enhancement and developing their own unique therapeutic style.
Outside of professional life Dori enjoys the beach (and anything involving water) traveling, listening to live music, pickleball and spending time with family which includes her Olde English Bulldog, Stasiu.
