Kayla in three words:
Compassionate, Supportive, Empowering
”Healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and supported.”
Kayla Hughes is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU), with a focus on trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and families in both school and community settings. Kayla’s professional background includes supporting survivors of domestic violence, as well as working with youth across elementary, middle, and high school levels. Her diverse experience has shaped her ability to meet individuals where they are and support them through a wide range of challenges.
Kayla utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and mindfulness-based strategies to approach therapy with empathy, compassion, and a client-centered perspective. She creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel comfortable being themselves and exploring their experiences. She understands that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, so she works at each individual’s pace, building trust and connection first. Sessions with Kayla are collaborative and tailored to each individual’s needs, focusing on developing coping skills, increasing self-awareness, and building resilience. Her goal is to support clients in feeling empowered, understood, and confident as they navigate life’s challenges.
In her free time, Kayla enjoys spending time with loved ones, engaging in self-care activities, and finding ways to recharge and stay grounded. She values balance and brings that same intention into her work with clients.
