Meet Tiara

“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” —Michael Jordan

Hello! I’m Tiara, a dedicated counselor with a passion for supporting individuals from all walks of life. With a diverse background in mental health, I've had the privilege of working with both children and adults, helping them navigate their unique challenges and achieve personal growth.I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Counseling from Cambridge College, where I developed a strong foundation in theoretical and counseling techniques.

Over the years, I have gained extensive experience in various settings, including community agencies, hospitals, schools and group homes. This has equipped me with a broad perspective on the different mental health issues that people face. My work encompasses a wide range of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. I utilize a person-centered approach, tailoring my methods to meet the individual needs of each client. My approach to counseling is believing in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood. My approach is grounded in empathy and active listening, allowing clients to explore their feelings and develop coping strategies. I also incorporate evidence-based practices, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy for adults and children, to facilitate healing and growth.

What drives me most is witnessing the resilience of my clients. I am inspired by their courage to confront their challenges and take steps toward a healthier, more fulfilling life. I am committed to fostering a collaborative relationship, empowering individuals to discover their strengths and achieve their goals.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy spending time with my animals, being at the beach and gardening which help me maintain balance and perspective in my own life. I believe that self-care is essential for everyone, including caregivers and professionals in the mental health field.

If you or someone you know is looking for support, I would love to connect. Together, we can work toward positive change and improved well-being.
