Víctor Antonio Rivera Colón is originally from Carolina, Puerto Rico. He began his academic journey at the Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources, followed by a Master’s degree in Justice Systems with a specialization in Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Processes. He later completed a Juris Doctor.
In September 2017, just days before Hurricane María, Víctor relocated to Massachusetts. There, he volunteered with the Volunteer Lawyers Project and later served as a legal advocate at the Eastern Region Legal Intake. During this time, he also collaborated with Massachusetts Advocates for Children, contributing to the development and facilitation of decision-making programs for individuals with developmental and functional differences.
While pursuing his Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at the InterMetro University of Puerto Rico, Víctor worked as a coordinator and professor for the Psychology and Criminal Justice programs at NUC University, supervising 33 faculty members. He simultaneously worked at a legal services office in Boston, providing supervised legal guidance to vulnerable populations in the Greater Boston Area.
After completing his clinical training, Víctor moved to New York, where he spent a year working as a family and child therapist at The Family Counseling Center. He describes this period as one of the most enriching experiences of his life and deeply influential in shaping his development as a clinician.
Víctor now holds an LMSW in the state of Connecticut and is proud to be part of the clinical team at Hopewell Health Solutions, where he brings his diverse background and passion for advocacy to his therapeutic work. Victor works with children, teens, adults, and families. His therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral strategies, with a relational, strengths-based framework to create a safe, supportive space for you to explore your experiences and develop meaningful coping skills. His work is grounded in the belief that healing begins with connection, empowerment, and self-awareness. Together, he works with his clients to uncover patterns, develop practical tools, and navigate life’s many challenges.
Víctor enjoys music, yoga, meditation, swimming, and the company of his beloved Sacha, the dog he rescued while living in Puerto Rico—since then, they have never been apart.
