Since COVID-19, we’ve seen exponential levels of anxiety, depression, self-harm, school refusal, and maladaptive behaviors in adolescents — leaving families stuck and frustrated and kids very vulnerable. Hopewell’s Teen/Tween IOP was created so parents and children can receive evidence-based treatment for lifelong mental health and recovery.
The program runs Monday–Thursday at our 1420 Main St, Glastonbury location, for 8–12 weeks. Parents attend once to twice a week to learn the DBT skills being taught — so the skills integrate at home, where they matter most.
Two age-specific tracks

Optional medication management

Setting the standard for IOP care
Our clinicians and medical staff are fully licensed and deeply experienced — a full medical team and a full therapeutic team working together to create customized strategies that drive real, positive change for each child and family. Each IOP staff member has 10–30 years of experience working with adolescents, and the program is licensed by the state of Connecticut.
We work with all adolescents, ages 8–18, struggling with self-injury, school refusal, suicidal ideation, and significant mood and anxiety disorders. We are fully inclusive and welcome all genders and the LGBTQA+ community — because every child is unique, every treatment plan is, too.

“Thank you for all the time, energy and support you and the IOP staff have poured into A. over the past three months. Her light is starting to shine brightly again. There is more work to be done, but it is amazing to see her on this healing journey. We will forever be grateful.”
“I really like the weekly emails and having the clinician’s phone number to check in or get help when needed. That was a lifesaver.”
“Our daughter attends Hopewell IOP (tween group) and I am truly impressed. Jackie and Kate are fantastic clinicians who always have the children’s best interest in mind. I myself am a therapist and have worked in IOP/PHP for years — I’ve found this organization’s IOP to be the best in CT.”
“I really like the staff members and I feel safe when I sit with them and comfortable telling them things. I really like Kate — she brings good energy to IOP. IOP has helped me learn how to deal with my anxiety and what to do when I feel upset.”
“I was so worried about my child and what they were doing, but from the first intake meeting with Dr. K, I knew we were in good hands and that this program was the right fit for our family.”
“I just completed Teen IOP at Hopewell and I feel I received the tools I need to go to college with less worry and anxiety. I really liked the groups and the other kids and the therapists. At first I did not always like going — and then I started looking forward to it, because it was making me better.”
