Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A)
“You are valuable just because you exist. Not because of what you do or what you have done, but simply because you are.” — Max Lucado
Maddy Blinderman is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Hartford and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT. She has a passion for working with teens, young adults, and adults who may be navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, imposter syndrome, ADHD, challenges with self-esteem, and interpersonal challenges. Maddy believes therapy is built on trust, honesty, empathy, and authenticity. She understands that reaching out for support can be a big step, and she strives to make that first step feel as comfortable as possible. Her goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where clients feel safe being themselves, sharing their stories, and working through whatever they may be facing. She believes every client deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood.
Maddy takes a warm, strengths-based approach to therapy and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based interventions. She believes therapy should feel collaborative and individualized, and she enjoys bringing humor, creativity, and fun into sessions when it feels right. Most importantly, she wants clients to feel empowered in their own lives and confident in their ability to navigate life's challenges.
Outside of the therapy room, Maddy enjoys exercising, spending time with friends and family, trying new activities and restaurants, and spending time with her Golden Retriever. She also loves a cozy night in and believes there is something to be said for slowing down and making time to rest. She values balance and sees rest as an important part of taking care of ourselves.
