Clinical Psychologist, Ph.D.
Dr. Carr is a licensed clinical psychologist with advanced training in health psychology and trauma treatment. She earned her B.A. in psychology from University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2019. She completed her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship training at Yale School of Medicine, where she continues to serve as an Assistant Clinical Professor, supervising and training psychology residents and fellows.
Dr. Carr is trained as a health psychologist, with clinical experience on chronic pain teams and across a range of medical and outpatient settings. She also has advanced training in trauma treatment and previously worked at the Women's Clinic at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System addressing the impacts of military sexual trauma.
At Hopewell Health Solutions, Dr. Carr provides supervision. As a therapist and supervisor, she practices through a collaborative, strengths-based lens, working with clients to identify patterns, build on their innate resilience, and develop practical tools for lasting wellbeing. Dr. Carr draws on a range of modalities, including CBT, Mindfulness, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and EMDR, tailoring treatment to each client's needs. Her practice emphasizes multicultural humility and is LGBTQ-affirming.
Dr. Carr lives in Hamden, Connecticut, with her husband and their two children. Outside of work, she's kept busy by a wonderfully bossy three-year-old and his baby sister sidekick. She also enjoys audiobooks and fitness.
